The Komagata Maru Incident Reading (Thursday 20th June)
Venue: Eltham Centre - 2 Archery Road, Eltham, London SE9 1HA
A free celebration of Refugees & Migrants living in the Borough presented in partnership with GRIP.

A Rehearsed reading of the Komagata Maru Incident, also with talks and live music from migrant artists living in the borough.

The Komagata Maru incident involved the Japanese steamship Komagata Maru, on which a group of people from British India attempted to immigrate to Canada in April 1914, but most were denied entry and forced to return to Budge Budge, Calcutta (present-day Kolkata). There, the Indian Imperial Police attempted to arrest the group leaders. A riot ensued, and they were fired upon by the police, resulting in some deaths.

Reach Theatre (Saturday 6th July)
Venue: Artillery Square, The Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, London SE18 4DX
A cabaret celebrating gender diversity in a rainbow of colours in partnership with Berkeley Homes.

Reach Theatre - a company of adults with learning differences present a free outdoor performance in the traditions of Cabaret and musical Theatre. Supported by Berkeley.

With additional events creating a celebration of gender and engaging with and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. Along with a live DJ throughout the afternoon.

Set in the Market area come and see the show and enjoy food, drink and good company.

N-Abled presents I'm Possible Not Impossible (Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August)
Venue: Tramshed - 51-53 Woolwich New Road, Woolwich, London SE18 6ES

‘I'm Possible Not Impossible’ a new commissioned Dance/Theatre performance professionally produced and directed and performed by disabled members of the Greenwich community; celebrating their special abilities! Delivered in partnership with METROGAD.

Award winning, spicy inclusive dance theatre company Moxie Brawl and Tramshed are creating a brand new devised piece by a company of local Disabled adults.

With funding in place for 3 years N-Abled will be the corner stone of the Union Festival creating a celebration of Disability in performance. In its first year delivering a newly commissioned dance theatre piece at the Tramshed working with up to 20 disabled members of the community. The working title for this piece is “I’m possible not impossible”.

Inspired by action movies, expect cool, sexy, frantic fun. This show is the first performance from our three year N’Abled partnership, commissioned by Metro GAD and the Rupert Prokofiev Award.
