About
A site of special scientific interest (SSSI), the ancient Oxleas Woods covers 77 hectares and is at least 8,000 years old. Take a walk through the woods of oak, silver birch, hornbeam and coppice hazel.
The cafe at the top of the hill in the meadow is a popular meeting place for locals and their dogs.
The Green Chain Walk runs through Oxleas Woods and into neighbouring Jack Wood and Castle Woods, where you can visit the 18th century folly, Severndroog Castle. The castle has an incredible viewing platform with splendid views across London and the surrounding counties. It also has a tea room on the ground floor.
