Getting Around Greenwich
River
The Royal Borough of Greenwich is blessed wih 8.5 miles of river frontage and three fantastic piers in Greenwich, North Greenwich and Woolwich, so you can get around the Borough in just minutes.
Boats also run from Greenwich to Canary Wharf, London Bridge, Embankment, London Eye and even as far as Putney!
Climb aboard City Cruises or Thames River Sightseeing for a leisurely cruise down London’s historical river, taking in the stunning London landmarks on your way, or hop on to an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers and speed down the river in style.
Train
Southeastern and Thameslink trains run every 10 minutes from London Bridge to Greenwich, Charlton, Eltham and Woolwich. Get from Greenwich to Charlton in just 7 mins, Woolwich Arsenal in 13 mins or Eltham via Lewisham in 26 mins.
Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
The DLR can get you between Greenwich, Docklands and Woolwich in a jiffy.
Take a Docklands Light Railway train from Greenwich, Cutty Sark or Woolwich Arsenal right into the heart of Canary Wharf. It's also makes it a cinch to get to ExCeL London!
Bus
You can travel quickly and easily around the Royal Borough by bus and this useful map will help you find your way around.
Tube
The nearest Underground station is North Greenwich, on the Jubilee line, which is just next door to The O2 and IFS Cloud Cable Car. It'll take you to Stratford, Canary Wharf, London Bridge and Bond Street in mere minutes.
Elizabeth Line (Crossrail)
The new Elizabeth line opened on 24 May 2022 and stretches more than 100km across London from Reading and Heathrow in the west through central tunnels across to Woolwich and Abbey Wood in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
London's newest line stops at 41 accessible stations - 10 of them brand new - and will provide high-frequency services with shorter journey times between some of the most popular destinations in the Capital.
Visitors can now travel from Tottenham Court Road to Woolwich in just 20 minutes and from Canary Wharf in just 8 minutes - without any changes!

The IFS Cloud Cable Car is the UK’s only urban cable car and runs between terminals at Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Docks. This unique journey across the river Thames takes less than ten minutes and offers fantastic views across the city.
