About
Join St George's Garrison Church for memorable evening with screening of the ground-breaking WW1 film, 1917, directed by Sam Mendes, following the story of two young British soldiers who are assigned to hand deliver an urgent message to a nearby battalion which involves traversing across hostile enemy territory. This is based on stories told to Sam Mendes by his grandfather as he recollected his memories of the horrors of the battles on the Western Front.
This event will also be marking the approaching Remembrance Day, a significant date in the Garrison's diary, with the presence of Royal British Legion including standard bearers, plus an opening performance by the RAF cadets band. There will also be launching the poppy campaign at the Garrison.
There will also be fully licensed bar available on-site.
