Raise money at this fundraising event to support local charity WSUP

About

Woolwich Service Users Project (WSUP) is hosting a Big Sleep Out fundraising event. Spend the night at Woolwich Works and raise money to support WSUP's essential services for the community.

Come on your own, bring friends and family, or use the event as a teambuilding opportunity with your colleagues.

Registration is £25 and you're asked to raise £200 per person in sponsorship. You can create your own JustGiving fundraising page by clicking on the 'Start fundraising' button on WSUP's page here.

Why take part?
Because of the lack of affordable housing and the cost-of-living crisis homelessness is rising. This event is to bring the community together in solidarity for those experiencing homelessness and talk about what we can do collectively to end homelessness.

Challenge yourself by doing something unusual, and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you to show that they care and want to make a difference. On the night there will be music and activities. You'll have the opportunity to take part in an empowering, unforgettable firewalk barefoot over hot coals! Get to know your local community and have fun.

What the money goes towards
£200 pays for WSUP to open its drop-in centre for a day. WSUP offers essential services including a warm and safe community space where people in need can access hot meals, showers, haircuts, a laundry service and a clothing bank. WSUP supports people who are going through, or are at risk of, poverty, homelessness, addiction and any other life challenges. WSUP is a non-judgmental environment and its doors are open to everyone in the borough of Greenwich. WSUP relies on donations to fund its services.

After the event
You can choose to donate your sleeping bag and rucksack to the Back to Kindness appeal. This annual, national event, in partnership with Ministry of Sound, distributes rucksacks of much-needed supplies including food, toiletries, sleeping bags and more to homeless people.
