This summer, join the Queen's House for a range of fun activities for families during the summer break

About

Come along to the Queen's House this summer and let your imagination run free at the workshops and craft sessions!

Check out the programme below, as well as all the fun summer activities for families happening at the other Royal Museums Greenwich sites [Summer Holidays at the National Maritime Museum].

Queen's House Characters (Selected Friday, Sunday and Monday)
Meet historical characters connected to the Queen's House and take part in exciting performances that bring the past to life.

Families Takeover
Dates: Monday 5th August
           Thursday 29th August
Join in for a unique family activity where you'll design and explore an immersive art gallery on the lush green grounds of the Queen’s House.
Engage your senses and creativity as you shape a living art experience! Come with your ideas on what changes would make art galleries more accessible and friendly places for your family.

Patterned Collages (Wednesday 7th August)
Inspired by the black and white patterned floor at the Queen’s House, create your own patterned collage. This can repeat the geometric shapes seen within the iconic floor design or become something more abstract!

Innovations of Architecture
Dates: Saturday 10th August on the lawns in front of The Cove Playground
Wednesday 21st August on the South West Lawns
Join in for a fun and creative family workshop inspired by the pioneering architecture of the Queen's House, with a modern twist.
You are invited to create your own innovative structures as a family and bond, create, and discover together! Explore the world of architecture with your kids through hands-on activities using recycled and found materials like frames, string, fabric, cardboard, and plastic bottles.

Under 5s Storytelling (Tuesday 13th August)
Queen Anne is throwing a marvellous Masque, and everyone is invited!
Under 5s and their families are invited to join in for movement, songs and sensory play as the host shares the story of one of Queen Anne's incredible parties!

Ruff Making (Wednesday 21st August)
Join in and make Jacobean ruffs, which were all the rage in the 17th century!
You'll get inspiration from the Armada Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I found in the Queen's House, and all of the other stylish people of that time.

Paper Tulips (Tuesday 27th August)
Inspired by the enchanting Tulip staircase in the Queen’s House, join in for an origami workshop and learn to make beautiful paper tulips to give to someone you love.
