About

Discover the History, Culture & Craft of the Fan!

Greenwich’s Fan Museum is the only museum in the UK devoted to the history of fans and the art of fan making.

Nestled in the heart of historic Maritime Greenwich, it’s home to a diverse collection of fans from around the world, dating from the 12th century to the present day.

Occupying two handsome, Heritage-listed Georgian townhouses, the Museum was first opened in 1991, since which time it has staged more than 80 exhibitions on its specialist subject.

Visitors can make their own fans in the workshop or buy beautiful examples from the well-stocked gift shop.
