About

Richard Griffiths has devoted his career as an architect to restoring historic buildings and giving them new life. He will talk about his work at St Alfege revealing the splendour of Hawksmoor’s architecture and making the church open and welcoming to visitors. He will illustrate his belief that new architecture created for existing buildings is just as – or even more – worthwhile than new architecture for new buildings, and is more sustainable. This thesis is expounded in his newly published book, Old Buildings, New Architecture.

Copies of Richard’s book will be available to purchase at the end of the event.
