About
This parish church of Greenwich was built on the site of the murder of Alfege in 1012, Archbishop of Canterbury, saint and martyr, and is commemorated by the inscription in the chancel: ‘He who dies for justice dies for Christ’. Frances Shaw, translator of Osbern’s Life of Alfege, will give an illustrated talk about what there is to know of his life, death and the context in which it happened.
Copies of ‘Osbern’s Life of Alfege’ will be available for purchase.
